Unforgettable Canada: 100 Destinations by Fischer and Hudson

I got inspired.

Turns out I've been to 16/100 places. Not bad, really.

*sigh* I am sad. I have not been to 90% of these places and most of mine duplicate yours. With one exception: I've been to Stanley Park in BC.

um. if by "Land of Living Skies, SK" they mean ALL OF SASKATCHEWAN then i call that one.

and glacier national park in AB.

and north of superior. if by that they mean just north in general.....

you've been to lots, sweets! i have to say, i'm a bit sad to see the rockton fall fair isn't on the list...

-have sleeves, will travel

I went ahead and crossed off Dawson City for BSB. Because he's scared of robots (a.k.a. computers) so he can't do it himself.

Alrighty I haven't done much more than you but i've been to many a Canada day in Ottawa (good times all around) and to Old Montreal and to Mount Royal. I'll get BSB to review the list I'm sure he'll be able to check some more off but I risk him talking my ear off about his time in the Yukon and BC ... I'll do it just for you

Fingers!

Library Lady said...

Woohoo! Good job, Fingers.

We were discussing this list (downstairs... because Fingers is at my work right now studying like a smrt cookie), and we agreed there are far too many places from the NWT. Intriguing. Yet completely unrealistic... Who's going to the NWT?

Not bad, peeps. We're closing in on the 1/4 mark.

you can cross of 14, 19
41, 44, 54. and 55 for me
FS

LL, you have deffs been to the Land of Living Skies, so change that number to 17.

Honestly, that one is kind of lame. I mean, they don't have Land of Brown to say we've been to MB.

Incidentally, you can get all the PEI ones in a day. I went before the bridge was built.

18 spots for me!

Sorry, Sleeves and Pants. I had no idea "Land of the Living Skies" referred to ALL of Saskatchewan. Yes, I have been there. The Human Sea Cucumber and I drove from Edmonton to Saskamatoon one evening for dearest Pants' wedding, and I've never seen a full moon like it before (nor do I expect to again...) Honestly, one of the craziest things ever.

Wait... Pants, are you saying I should cross off all of the PEI things for you?

That Saskatoon moon
Is calling to me
It rises so bright
In my memory
....
I'd love to hear that meadowlark
Sing my favorite prairie tune
And hold your hand dear
'Neath that Saskatoon moon

I've been to: Land of Living Skies (which I agree is lame. Yes, we have beautiful skies, but I think sticking a whole province on the list is silly.), Grasslands National Park (if you think prairie dogs are cute, this is the place to go), Ummmm... #50, I'm pretty sure, should be the Great Sand Hills, and yes, I've been there. Lots of sand.

Looking at this list, I realize that I definitely need to travel more, and I don't even need my passport.

wade and I went to #72 on our honeymoon...Gros Morne.

Yay, Belly!

The PE things besides the bridge, yes. I've also covered SK, thanks to 'affordable' family vacays.

And I've been locked outside a house in the middle of the night in Charlottetown due to trying to escape the snoring of two aged great aunts. That should totally be on there too.

Allison Fairbairn said...

oh, hai, I get what you're doing now. You can cross off 22, 25, 30, 92, 95 and 97 for me.

Keri said...

Man. I can't believe the only SK location I could claim would be "Land of Living Skies." I should get out more. The only ones I can cross off are 70 (I had the lobster), 90 (I had the scones) and 95 (Green Gables!!).

S'cute, Pants...

I'm feeling pretty good about this, guys. 2:30 p.m. and we've reached 39?!

And Fingers is checking with BSB tonight re: the Yukon, so I know we'll be able to probs take a few more down.

Library Lady said...

p.s. I'm a bit surprised no one has been to see Bonhomme!?

Amber said...

Let me fill in, then.

I hope I'm allowed to be in it because, strictly, I don't really know you, only second-hand via the conduit of Pants.

Anyway the extras I have done from what's already gone are: Quebec Carnaval (though have not stayed in the ice hotel, so I hope it counts), and the Bay of Fundy tides (although again, I think it only half-counts as I didn't stay the whole day to go from one extreme to the other).

Out of the ones that have not been crossed off so far, I've been to #62(Vancouver Seawall, BC)...

But, I've also got some more Lossing representation here...my Dad's been on #100 a salmon fishing boat in the Queen Charlotte Islands (when he was just a wee lad)...and my Mom's been to #98 the Reversing Falls, NB (when she was just wee aswell)...they've also both been to #53 Lake Morraine (on their honeymoon...ohhh, so cute...that was the last time they ever camped!)

that's an inspiring list!
lil' fingers

You guys, we're at 46! Woo to the serious hoo.

Thanks to Pants for introducing us to Amber (and we're totally counting your half Bonhomme-half Fundy trips...)

And the Lossing family is a gem (not that this wasn't obvi before.) But thinking about a wee Dean on a fishing boat is just about the cutest thing evah!!!

#84. I've been to Gimli, Manitoba, and I've been to Iceland. But not the Icelandic festival in Gimli. Does the combination mean we can cross it off?

Library Lady said...

Hurrah for Hurr_ah! While I'm ignoring the fact that you've been to Manitoba (because we all know my thoughts on Manitoba), I'm excited we can cross our 47th item off the list!

librarychik said...

Hola LL,

I have been to 3, 21, 67

:-)

Library Lady said...

Woo to the hoo! Librarychik you got us up to 50!

I finally got BSB to take a look at the list and out of the ones left on the list he's been to 2, 16, 26, 49, 66, and 91! So that's 6 more off the list!

Fingers!
